New LG G6 Render Shows Off Thin Top Bezel
A new purported render showing the LG G6 has been published online by the folks over at The Verge. While previously leaked renders and case renders showing the G6 revealed a design more or less identical to the current G5, the new render reveals a very different design with a very thin bezel at the top and a premium looking metallic frame in the middle. Similar to the Xiaomi Mi Mix and the rumored Samsung Galaxy S8, the LG G6 display appears to be curved on the corners.
According to The Verge, the G6 will feature a large 5.7-inch sized display with an extremely high screen-to-body ratio of over 90 percent, putting it on par with Xiaomi Mi Mix. The display will also boast of an unusual 2:1 aspect ratio. In terms of the design, the LG G6 is tipped to feature a metal and glass body, similar to Samsung Galaxy flagships. The handset will be waterproof as well, which means the G6 will be the first LG flagship to be protected against the elements. Unfortunately (for some), the G6 will also be the first LG flagship to feature a sealed battery. The 3.5mm headphone jack will still be present though, so you will not have to deal with USB Type-C to 3.5mm adapters to connect your favorite headphones to the LG G6. At the back, the G6 will include a dual-camera setup like the G5. The fingerprint scanner will also be positioned at the back of the handset, most probably in the same position as on the G5.
The LG G6 will be officially announced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 next month in Barcelona, Spain. The flagship smartphone is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core SoC and include at least 4GB of RAM. Just like rival Samsung, LG too has a lot at stake with its upcoming smartphone, as it aims to revive its smartphone business and increase its market share in the lucrative high-end segment of the smartphone market.
